Come and See

I am convinced that when we first step in the direction of God, God will reveal His power.
This morning I read in my quite time the following passage, and I would like to my heart with you.

How often do we wonder where our "Savior" is. We look around us and see the human, carnal struggle and wonder how are we going to be saved from this? Before I go further, quickly read this passage in John 1:43-51

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come, follow me.”  Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew and Peter’s hometown. Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.” “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.” Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!” Jesus asked him, “Do you believe this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.”  Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth. ”
John 1:43-51 NLT

The first thought is, COME FOLLOW ME. Jesus gives us all the opportunity to follow Him. The devil wants us to follow other things and throws us with a lot of distractions, but there is only ONE who we can follow, which gives us the ability to SEE.

COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. I believe that we are saved for others. To share the good news with friends and family. But it is the Holy Spirit who draws them. I believe we must pray that God will draw people and that they will find the strength to stand up for themselves and to come and see. Where in our life’s choices, must we stand up and trust God to see Him? Are you discouraged? Flat on the ground? All God requires you to do is come and see. Nathaniel was negative when he heard the good news … "can anything good come out of Nazareth?" but when he ROSE and SAW Jesus, it changed his outlook on life. I want to encourage you today, ARISE FROM YOUR SITUATION, WALK AND SEE that Jesus wants to SHARE WITH YOU His heart for you.

Before you could even see, know, that Jesus ALREADY SAW YOU IN YOUR SITUATION. He knows where you are, He knows your heart and mind. He waits with an open heart, with arms wide open to receive you. Every day is a hug day. Jesus wants to hold you today.

When you BELIEVE the words of Jesus, you will SEE GREATER THINGS THAN BEFORE. We think we have seen great things, but in faith we come to God, and He SHOWS us His Glory. WE WILL EXPERIENCE THE GLORY. Keep on believing His promises to you. When you come and see, life as you know is, will change and it will be better, even in the storms, it will be better, because Jesus is with you there in the storm.

ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

May you experience a wonderful day, and remember … You are precious !!!

This is my son, Reuben. He is a special boy with a lot of joy in his character. There is seldom a time when you will see him sad or down. When you feel sad or down, just take a look at him and he will make you smile. During our family holiday we were at a restaurant enjoying food and good company.  During that time he took a piece of lemon. Thinking that he will put it down after the first bite, he just went on taking bite after bite. Pulling his face everytime.

The thought came to me a few days later, when I was looking at the photo I have taken. The sourness of life. Most people are sour because they keep on taking the bite of Negativity. When you chew on bad things our first response is to spit it out. But why do we keep on chewing on the negative, when there is nothing nutritional or positive about it.
Paul says to the Philipians that they must chew (think) on everything that is true, worthy of reverence, that is just, good, pure and lovely. [fix your minds on them]. (Phil 4:8)

There is to many people that fill their mouths with negativity and still they don’t understand why their lives are so filled with junk.  To have a sourless life, keep your mouth filled with the WORD of God. Jesus came so that when you are tempted with the sourness of life, you will be able to  stand on the true foundation of life. GOD’S WORD – NAMED JESUS.

For Reuben, my son, to keep his face straight, he had to put the sourness away. He had to Remove the lemon from his mouth. Remove the world from your mouth and fill it with the WORD of God.

So be blessed,
Know Jesus and He will help you to be SOURLESS and enjoy the sweetnees that is JESUS…

Psalms 30:11 NLT
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.

Today I feel sadness like I never thought I would feel again. The only other time I felt this kind of sadness was when my granddad past away. Something I never thought I would feel again.
But why so sad. When I really think about it, it is all because of LOVE. Because of love we feel a deep emotion that can only be explained with love.
When you loose somebody to death or you are seperated from someone. That love that you feel, cause you to feel sadness.

In this time of Passover, I can only imagine, how Jesus must have felt on the cross. God turning His face away from Jesus knowing that the sin Jesus took on Himself to set the human race free from everlasting doom, must have been a great sadness that I know I won’t be able to bear. Because of the Fathers love for Jesus, He felt sadness like never before. Jesus knows how we feel when our emosions run wild and everything seems lost. Jesus knows… the Father knows…

This all began because of sin and the destruction it brought. But, because of the RESURRECTION of Jesus, sadness no longer need to rule your life. Because our Savior lives… we can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone.

John 15:11 NLT
I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

I want to encourage you, that if you feel sad because of whatever happend in your life, turn to Jesus and His Word for comfort. There are so many people looking for comfort in all the wrong places. Jesus is our JOY and our STRENGTH.

Let the Holy Spirit empower you with joy (Gal 5:22)

I am not saying that we are not aloud to have the emotion of sadness, BUT I do believe that we don’t have to live under the constant banner of sadness. We can have joy in our lives again.

What I have done, is this:
I made a choice to grieve, but that the grieve won’t determent my outcome. In other words, Jesus is my foundation and my JOY! For this is the day that the Lord has made. Remember Jesus KNOWS…

The love

So many times we run to things around us to feel loved and for a while we might feel satisfaction, but is that really love we feel. How many times have I seen girls running to guys just to feel loved and in the process get hurt. For just a while their feelings of exceptance and pleasure felt like love.

I want to let people know that, to find love with other people, they need first to know what real love is.
Jesus said that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for friends. That is what Jesus did. He layed down His life for all humanity so that we can be overcomers through His love. Overcomers. Isn’t that a great hope for now and the future?

When we look for love, we need to start with Jesus. In Him and through Him we will know what it is to love.

LOVE = LAYING DOWN YOUR OWN LIFE.

What does it mean to lay down your life?
1. It means that you put other people first.
2. Having compasion for people out side your comfort zone.
3. It means that you have only one WILL to please. Not yours, but Gods’.

I think that when we seek love and we can remember this statement of Jesus, we will live with a love that will reach people and touch them in such a way that they wil want to know JESUS and His love.

That must be our main focus when looking for love… to HONOUR JESUS.

servanthoodIn Gen 39 we read about Joseph and how he was sold into slavery. This young boy who was loved by his father and mother and despised by his brothers. This young boy who had everything he could hope for. I see that Joseph was never in the field and he didn’t serve the way his brothers did all day long. In a sense we could say that he didn’t really serve in his family. He was protected from very hard work.

Then in Gen 39 we see how his brothers sell him. And Joseph’s path to his destiny was in full swing. It is interesting to see that Joseph didn’t sit back when he had to work, but he did everything with excellence and commitment. The Bible says that God was with Joseph. And Potiphar saw that Joseph was to be trusted and made him second in charge of his whole house.

Then Potiphar’s wife wanted to take Joseph to her bed, but Joseph refused and she framed him and he was thrown into prison. We would think that is is the end of his journey towards greatness, but is was just the next step. You see God will use the bad times in our lives to work out for good and so that God would be glorified. In verse 21 of chapter 39, the Bible says and God was with Joseph. You see, even when times are bad and it seems everything is falling around you, GOD IS WITH YOU!!!

Joseph kept on serving and the Prison warden saw that Joseph was good in everything he did and made him in charge of the prison. Joseph was trusted because God was with him and because he knew how to serve.

IN THE BIBLE, GREATNESS IS DEFINED BY SERVANTHOOD

servanthood-greatness

Joseph was summoned to come to the king because he knew how to interpret dreams. He help Pharaoh to understand his dream and he saw that God was with Joseph… and made him second in charge.

We all know the story of Joseph in detail and we know how everything ended with him and his Hebrew family. But what I learned from him is that being a servant (and most of all, being a servant of God) we need to lay down pride and work as if you are working for God. God is the one who gives promotion and He is the one who sets people in leadership. We need to listen closely to what God is saying to us in our situations, and live our lives according to His ways.

Remember Joseph and his servanthood when you are feeling who are heading nowhere. God will direct you steps for HE is in control. (Ps 37:23,  Pro 20:24,  Jer 10:23)
